MY TRAVEL COLLECTIBLES

"Take nothing but pictures, leave nothing but footprints,  kill nothing but time"

When I am in the mountains or in the midst of mother nature  I do abide by the golden rule above otherwise I do what most tourists  do.  Aside from taking  lots of pictures  I also  make sure to get something, a souvenir that  would remind me that place I visited .
From left to right bell with the Singapore's Merlion, sand in a bottle from Dubai, miniature of Sagrada Familia of Barcelona

Travel keepsakes come in many kinds, shapes and sizes. There  are the usual souvenirs like  refrigerator magnets, snow globes and key chain not to forget the famous "I Love (name of city)" t-  shirts.  I bet many travellers have a collection of well,  except me. I don't really buy any specific  kind of souvenir items but before I knew it I already have my  very own collectibles.
Here are some of it and the story behind each mementos

1. The Towers
Obviously, I got all my towers collection when  I visited or should i say when I conquered the high rise structures.

I bought  Petronas Twin Tower in Kuala Lumpur when I visited the Malaysian City for one day ,as a side trip from Singapore.

Eiffel Tower in the city of lights, Paris. But what is Mickey Mouse doing there? Because, I bought it in Disneyland Paris.

The Burj Khalifa . It was  on  my stop over in Dubai for my flight from Manila to Rome and  I didn't missed the chance to visit the World's Tallest Building .

 2. The Mugs

Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi. I did a side trip to the UAE's capital during my three week vacation in Dubai. Being a fan of F1 (Formula 1) I made sure to visit the World's largest indoor theme park that showcases anything and everything about Ferrari, one of the famous if not the most famous car in F1.

Leaning tower of Pisa. Another side trip , this time coming from Florence, Italy. To make a visiting friend's trip to the Tuscan region of Italy more worthwhile, I showed her the world famous tower of Pisa.

Disneyland in Hongkong - my first travel with my nephews and niece and what better way to spend a family vacation in Hongkong than a fun- filled day in Disneyland.

3. The Rosaries
I bought the rosary with smaller  round case during a pilgrimage trip  in Lourdes, France and  the  bigger one in St. Pio Shrine in Pietrelcina, Italy.  The   rosary with the image of Saint Pedro Calungsod was   when I attended the canonization of  the second Filipino saint  on August, 2012 in Vatican City.

Of all my many different kind of souvenirs, the rosaries are my most precious because I always bring one with me whenever I travel. I believe that they keep me safe wherever I go. Everything else are in display including the t- shirts that , they are still  in their plastic bags. Just by looking at these mementos makes me reminisce the fun and  unforgettable travel  experiences .
